Field Application Engineer
Embedded Software (m/f)
Role:
You’ll become a trusted technical partner for customers across Eastern Europe, helping them integrate wireless modules into their products, solve complex software challenges and successfully move their projects from development to production.
📌 Location: Eastern Europe, home-based
Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece or similar locations considered.
✈️ Travel: Occasional customer visits and industry events across Europe.
🌐 Company: A global provider of cellular modules and IoT solutions, delivering wireless connectivity technology for applications including EV charging, smart metering, security, tracking and a wide range of connected devices.
What will you be doing?
➡️ Guide customers through the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and integration of wireless modules into their products.
➡️ Act as a technical partner for customers, helping them solve software integration, configuration and troubleshooting challenges.
➡️ Support the integration between customer platforms, operating systems, drivers and wireless modules.
➡️ Work with embedded operating systems and help customers adapt solutions to their hardware and software environments.
➡️ Diagnose complex software issues, identify root causes and work closely with R&D and technical teams to resolve them.
➡️ Provide technical guidance during customer meetings and support the European Sales team when specialist technical expertise is required.
➡️ Serve as the primary technical contact for key accounts, building strong relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
➡️ Share customer feedback with Product Management and R&D to support continuous product and software improvement.
➡️ Participate in industry events, trade shows and conferences across Europe.
What will help you get the job done?
💡 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software, embedded systems, software integration, or a related technical support role.
💡 Strong understanding of embedded operating systems, particularly Linux. Experience with RTOS, Android, or Zephyr will be highly valuable.
💡 Practical experience with drivers, platform integration and embedded software troubleshooting.
💡 Hands-on programming experience with C/C++ and/or Python.
💡 Experience solving technical problems and supporting software integration throughout the development lifecycle.
💡 Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers on technical topics.
💡 Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed international teams.
Nice to have:
⭐ Experience with cellular or wireless modules, IoT devices or connectivity products.
⭐ Familiarity with LTE, 4G/5G, LPWA, NB-IoT or GNSS technologies.
⭐ Knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, MQTT or CoAP.
